The Walthers Cornerstone 3-Stall Modern Roundhouse will be a hallmark of later steam-era railroading on your layout. If you model the diesel era you'll also find this kit to be a centerpiece of your servicing facility since some of these classics are still used today. Based on a typical two-track design, the Walthers Cornerstone Wood Coaling Tower will be a focal point in any engine terminal. The Walthers Cornerstone ADM Concrete Grain Elevator is patterned after modern concrete elevators in use from coast to coast since the 1950s. Grain traffic touches almost every corner of the North American rail network - from the vast cornfields, wheat fields and ethanol plants of the midwest to busy waterfront export terminals, feed mills, food processors and elevators in large cities. Long trains of covered hoppers moving grain and ethanol byproducts such as DDG have become an important part of the railroad landscape. Grain traffic should touch your model railroad too!

Kit for the "Sulzdorf" Half-Timbered Freight Shed. This Württemberg standard design freight shed was all along the Hohenlohe Line in half-timbered construction. This freight shed stands and stood in different lengths at many train stations in Württemberg. The prototype is still standing Sulzdorf near Schwäbisch Hall. A shorter version still stands in Eckartshausen.

This kit consists of laser-cut, colored architectural hard cardstock. It has the finest laser-engraved details. Extensive instructions for building the kit are included.

The prototypes for coal and oil dealers like the Walthers Cornerstone Goldenflame Fuel Co. were well known to everyone in town. Shoehorned alongside mainlines and sidings, these businesses sold coal for home heating by the bagful or the ton and delivered to your house. Commercial accounts like small factories and stores were also serviced. As oil furnaces became common, many dealers expanded their line to include home heating oil too.

While most roads had one major backshop, the prototypes for the Walthers Cornerstone Machine Shop allowed railroads to make repairs at outlying terminals since it was often faster, more cost-effective and got the locomotives back on the road and earning their keep. As new engine terminals were built, most received a machine shop capable of handling just about any type of repair that might be needed.

The prototypes for Walthers Cornerstone State Line Farm Supply offer farm implements, repair services and more. During the steam era, many of these businesses received machinery by rail in boxcars or on flatcars; the pieces were usually unloaded at a nearby trackside ramp. In the modern era, as urban areas crept further outward, these buildings found new occupants like auto dealers, mechanics, garden centers and more, in distinctly suburban areas.
