We ship world wide with Canada Post* at cost + $4 Handling Charge . Up to 100 CAD (about $80 USD) coverage is included with the shipping. Any shortfall in the event of a loss or damage to your parcel is deemed to be self-insured by you, the recipient. Additional coverage may be available at a cost of $2.30 CAD ($1.80 USD) per increment of $100 CAD. Please let us know by email that you would like to add insurance and we will add if available on your shipping option before charges are processed.
We do NOT offer Free Shipping. Pick-Up in store is defined as a shipping option and is of course at no charge. As this is the lowest cost option it is also the default by the website. Hence you may see Free Shipping during check-out till you have chosen your shipping option. Shipping by Canada Post will be at a charge.
We pack well to protect your items during transit. Should you want extra padding just let us know. Keep in mind, that will increase the parcel volume and with that also your cost.
*Some countries are excluded by our website as Canada Post with its international partners only offer limited shipping options. However, you may order by email and we will process your order manually. Keep in mind that shipping might be expensive.
The website can process the order in USD or CAD currency. The currency selector is placed in the upper right hand corner on this page.
US and International customers are required to complete the shopping cart in USD. Payment options are PayPal or Bank Wire (EFT/ACH).
Canadian Customers can complete the order in either CAD or USD currency. If you select CAD then you have the options to pay by VISA, MasterCard or Interac e-Transfer (select check as the payment method). We also accept EFT/ACH. If you elect to pay by Interac e-Transfer or EFT/ACH then do not send the funds yet as we will apply a 1% credit (savings) on your order and forward your adjusted bill by email.
You can also pay by CASH (in-store) or Money Order. However, we will apply a 1% surcharge to help cover our cost thereof. Personal cheques are NOT accepted.
We do not take any item back for a refund or exchange for any reason whatsoever. However, we may consider to buy back your surplus item. The discount will depend on the item and condition. Please email us to negotiate.
All warranty claims rests with the respective manufacturer and is subject to its terms and conditions accordingly. Please visit the manufacturer website for details and procedures regarding your claim. HobbyTech do not offer a supplemental warranty program. Nor is HobbyTech, or any other dealer, authorized to act on behalf of the manufacturer. However, on your request, HobbyTech is happy to act on your behalf and can help coordinate and facilitate your warranty claim. You can therefore either contact the manufacturer directly or ask HobbyTech for assistance. You may do so by email providing all relevant details regarding your item, symptoms and defects observed. We will then contact the manufacturer on your behalf and coordinate the warranty claim. You may be asked to ship your item to them or to HobbyTech at your cost. Return shipping is likely covered by the manufacturer. HobbyTech will and cannot assume any liability regarding your warranty item.
It is inevitable that mistakes can happen even though we are making the best effort to provide accurate and relevant information herein. You may need to verify with the manufacturer official website to ensure yourself that you in fact are making the purchase of the item intended and the specifications are as expected. Accordingly, we will not take an item back due to but not limited to incorrect item number, incorrect road number or incorrect item description. Should you be in doubt or have discovered that our information is inconsistent with the manufacturer we welcome your feedback. HobbyTech will not be held liable for any loss due to errors or omissions on this website.
HobbyTech reserves the right to correct pricing before finalizing the sale due to but not limited to price increase by the manufacturer or supplier, currency exchange variations or increase in logistical cost like shipping and handling. Should an error be discovered after the sale is finalized we do expect that you will make good on any shortfall we can document or return the item to us. Examples of this could be that we did charge you for a DC model while you did get a DCC/sound unit, we did not charge applicable tax or charged you incorrectly for shipping. Likewise, HobbyTech will refund any overcharge due to our error.
