Based on the popular FP7 diesel, the A unit is four feet longer than a conventional F7A to accommodate a steam generator boiler and water tank. The F7B booster in this set is typical of the units that operated on many passenger and freight runs. Each features a heavy die cast metal chassis, smooth dual-flywheel drive, all-wheel electrical pickup, a light board that is easily swapped for a DCC decoder (available separately) when you're ready, and Kato magnetic knuckle couplers. Use this EMD FP7A-F7B Set to handle passenger runs on your DCC-equipped 1950s and later railroad.
