Diesel locomotive (NS) #2207, Era III-IV

The diesel locomotive NS 2200 in gray-yellow livery in Era III-IV. The model of the NS 2200 features the finest details of the body as well the heavy bogies of American design. The railings, which are very characteristic of this series, are elaborately etched metal parts. Following the proven design principles of PIKO, a motor with a precisely balanced flywheel drives all four axes. The two axles running on the inside are each equipped with a traction tire. The model has a PluX 12 interface and the light changes red/white when the direction of travel changes. This locomotive served pulling freight trains and in shunting service. For that reason, the PIKO model is designed to operate in radii down to 192 mm.

Novelty 2021: Rh 1200 of the NS in Ep. IV

The Model has been equipped with a Next18 interface. The red/white head/tail light will change with the direction of travel. Two wheels have traction tyres in a diagonal arrangement for optimum traction. The PIKO Model has excellent running characteristics and can easily operate through radii down to 192 mm. In addition, the Model is prepared for installation of a DCC Sound Decoder and a loudspeaker and will in DCC operations also provide additional control of the light system of the locomotive.

A contemporary model of the PKP ET 21 will certainly make the hearts of many friends of the railway in our neighboring country soar, as the freight train locomotive is one of the milestones of the traction change in Poland. PIKO acknowledges this historical value in the model conversion in size H0. 

The model is powered by a five-pole PIKO engine with two flywheel masses. Almost obligatory is the lighting in the colors red and white, which is of course designed in LED technology and changes with the direction of travel. This PIKO Expert model of the Dutch State Railways (NS) class 1100 impresses with successful mold construction, harmonious roof roundings, and many applied parts, such as fine insulators and pantographs, free-standing grab irons, and stairs. The model has the matching lamp molds, sharply engraved bogie covers with realistic spring assembly reproductions and faithful reproductions of the buffer planks.

The lighting is provided by LEDs. The cab and engine room lights as well as the front and rear lights that work depending on the direction of travel can be controlled digitally with a PluX22 decoder.

The NCTD Sprinter provides modern diesel-powered commuter service in Northern San Diego County. It connects with trains of Amtrak’s Surfliner, plus commuter services of Metrolink and the Coaster. The PIKO models feature new tooling for the larger rooftop AC units.

D.141 1019 FS IV

After the D.145, another model of an Italian shunting locomotive appears as a new design with the D.141, which is a few years older. The pleasing model, combined with the meticulous model implementation typical of PIKO, can be expected to be both inspiring and operational. It is already clear that the model will be an eye-catcher on every model railway layout due to absolutely precise engravings, the finest details and a perfect implementation of the model color design.

A PIKO SmartDecoder 4.1 with sound is installed ex works. Fitting parts for the exemplary design of the buffer screed are enclosed with the model.
