EMD SD90/43MAC Union Pacific - UP 3736
Weighing in at more than 400,000 pounds and with a length in excess of 80 feet and massive 4,300 horsepower tractive effort, the SD90/43MAC is one of the heaviest, longest, and most powerful single diesel locomotives in the world. To date, there have been three production “versions” of the SD90MAC. The SD90/43MAC was originally designed with a 6,000hp engine in mind, but was fitted with a smaller and more reliable 4,300hp engine that ended up being kept that way by most railroads, even though the option to upgrade to the higher horsepower engine was offered at a later date.

EMD SD70M
CSX Transportation #4695
(Standard Flat Radiator)(blue, yellow, white)
Introduced in 1992, EMD SD70M was a 4000 horsepower locomotive that ran on EMD's new steerable truck design, known as the HTCR-II radial truck. This new truck allowed the locomotive to transfer its power to the rails more efficiently, which in turn enabled two SD70M locomotives to pull a train that would have taken 3 SD40-2's to pull. The DC brother of the SD70MAC, the SD70M was primarily put to work hauling coal trains due to its high pulling capacity.

DCC/Sound (ESU LokSound)
The Dash 8-40CM was introduced in 1990 with a total of 55 units for Canadian National (2400-2454) and 26 units for BC Rail (4601-4626). A further three locomotives (401-403) were built for the QNSL in March 1994. With CN’s purchase of BC Rail came the fleet of Dash 8s, which would see them released into general service across North America. It was not uncommon to see BC Rail Dash 8s operating everywhere on CN's expanded North American network, and even all the way to Florida and Texas.
